At Mindstate, we are serious about building a community where we inspire and push each other in our jiu jitsu journeys. Whether you are just starting on your journey or are a seasoned jiu jitsu player, we want to create a supportive environment to push your limits and make you strong and disciplined.
We offer classes every morning and evening for Adults in both Gi and No Gi technique. For those who want to compete, we offer specialized training to help you prepare for tournaments and matches. Our instructors have years of experience competing at the highest levels and can help you achieve your competitive goals. Check out our calendar to find times that will work for you.
Join us every Saturday from 9:30-11am to learn jiu jitsu technique from Jessica Buys. Learn among other women in the Bluffton community. We go over technique and participate in open mat during that time. This is a community of baddie women supporting and empowering each other to do things outside of our comfort zone. Come learn to kick ass and laugh while doing it!
Our kids classes are designed to teach children the fundamentals of jiu jitsu in a fun and supportive environment. We focus on building confidence, discipline, and respect while teaching basic techniques and conditioning. We offer two classes. One as an introduction for newer students to practice movements needed in jiu jitsu. We practice forward rolls, shrimping, bear crawls, and games to develop physical awareness. Our Youth technique class focuses on techniques to drill with other students during matches. Both classes are good for beginner and advanced students.
Our fitness classes focus on flexibility and strength specific to jiu jitsu, but is not limited to only jiu jitsu athletes. Anyone can benefit from getting more flexible and using bodyweight movements to increase strength. Our flexibility class teaches you how to stretch and we use external load to get stronger in these vulnerable positions.
Our strength class use movement patterns focusing on how to control your body in non traditional strength positions. This is a great way to train jiu jitsu to get better at jiu jitsu. Get strong while learning how to control and move your body in new and fun ways. We touch on everything from pistol squats, push up variations, cartwheels, headstands, crawling, rolling, inverting to train in new and exciting ways. If you are bored with traditional strength training with weights and want to learn how to truly control your body in space, this class is for you!
If you're looking for guidance for getting stronger and more confident in your body, we offer 1 on 1 personal training. Whether your goal is losing weight, working around an injury, building muscle, or increasing your overall health, we are equipped to build a personalized program to your needs and fitness level. Having experience in training 18 year olds to 90 year olds, adding strength training into your fitness routine is a must and an important investment in your future.
